House Speaker Mike Johnson has tapped Rick Crawford, an Arkansas Republican who has opposed Ukraine aid, to replace defense hawk Mike Turner atop the Intelligence Committee, people familiar with the decision said.

The decision, less than a day after Turner’s surprise ouster, gives the gavel to a lawmaker more aligned with President-elect Donald Trump’s America First ideology just days before the inauguration.
