ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) β Flash Flood Warnings are in effect through 10:45 p.m. for most areas west of the Blue Ridge. One to three inches of rain have fallen with pockets of heavy rain continuing. Flooding of streams, creeks, rivers, low-lying areas and city streets are possible over the next several hours.
Flood Warnings continue across the New River Valley, Roanoke Valley, Central Virginia and Highlands into Saturday evening.
Rainfall estimates between one and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen since early Saturday morning with up to 1.5 additional inches expected in some areas through Sunday afternoon.
Behind a cold front on Sunday, winds will increase across the region. A Wind Advisory is in effect from noon on Sunday through 4 p.m. on Monday.
