WATCHING THOSE SHOWERS MAKE THEIR WAY HERE. THAT’S RIGHT. IT’S ALL AHEAD OF A COLD FRONT. A VERY STRONG COLD FRONT, IN FACT. THAT’S RIGHT NOW OVER THE FLORIDA PANHANDLE. EVENTUALLY, THOSE LINES OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WILL MOVE INTO CENTRAL FLORIDA. BUT IT SHOULD WEAKEN SIGNIFICANTLY BY THE TIME IT GETS HERE. RIGHT NOW, THOUGH, WE DO HAVE A TORNADO WATCH IN EFFECT FOR THE PANHANDLE PORTIONS OF THE PANHANDLE. YOU CAN SEE THAT LINE OF SEVERE STORMS ALREADY FIRING UP SEVERAL SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS. BASICALLY RIDING ALONG THAT LINE. AGAIN, THIS IS UP TOWARDS THE PANHANDLE, BUT I AM EXPECTING THIS LINE TO EVENTUALLY TO MAKE ITS WAY INTO CENTRAL FLORIDA. I DO THINK IT WILL WEAKEN QUITE A BIT BY THE TIME IT GETS HERE, BUT WE CAN’T RULE OUT AN ISOLATED THREAT FOR SEVERE THUNDERSTORM LATER ON THIS AFTERNOON. RIGHT NOW THOUGH, FIRST WARNING RADAR SHOWING DRY CONDITIONS. ALL IS QUIET RIGHT NOW. BUT HERE’S A LOOK AT FUTURECAST. SO ONCE WE GET PAST LUNCHTIME, THAT’S WHEN WE’LL REALLY NEED TO KEEP AN EYE ON THAT RADAR. BECAUSE YOU CAN SEE AGAIN FROM NOW TO LUNCHTIME GREAT CONDITIONS MINUS SOME WINDY WEATHER, BUT AROUND 1 TO 2:00 IS WHEN THAT LINE WILL EVENTUALLY MAKE ITS WAY INTO OUR NORTHERN COUNTIES, INCLUDING FLAGLER AND THEN MARION COUNTIES. THEN BY ABOUT TWO TO ABOUT 3:00, THAT LINE MOVES FARTHER SOUTHEAST, HEADING TOWARDS AREAS LIKE NORTHERN VOLUSIA COUNTY, LAKE COUNTY, AND SUMTER COUNTY. KEEP IN MIND, THE DAYTONA 500 HAS BEEN PUSHED BACK TO A 130 START TIME. SO THIS IS TO AVOID THIS LINE MOVING IN. UNFORTUNATELY, I STILL THINK WE’LL SEE SOME SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS DURING THAT RACE, SO THERE STILL COULD BE SOME DELAYS, BUT AT LEAST WE’LL GET THE RACE OFF TO START OFF AT 130 AND THEN BY 4 TO 5:00 THAT LINE WILL BE RIGHT OVER THE I-4 CORRIDOR. NOTICE HOW IT WEAKENS SIGNIFICANTLY BEFORE IT EVEN REACHES BREVARD OR EVEN OSCEOLA COUNTY AROUND 5 TO 6:00. SO THE GREATEST POTENTIAL FOR ANY SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE NORTH AND WEST OF I-4. YOU CAN SEE MARION COUNTY UNDER A LEVEL ONE OUT OF FIVE RISK FOR SEVERE WEATHER LATER ON TODAY, WITH DAMAGING WINDS BEING THE BIGGEST THREAT. CAN’T RULE OUT AN ISOLATED TORNADO, BUT I DO THINK THE WINDS WILL BE THE STRONGEST THREAT. SPEAKING OF THE WINDS, EVEN OUTSIDE OF THAT LINE OF THUNDERSTORMS, IT’S GOING TO BE A VERY WINDY DAY. WINDS WILL BE OUT OF THE SOUTHWEST ABOUT 20 TO 30MPH, GUSTING UP TO 45 AT TIMES. SO IF YOU HAVE ANY OUTDOOR PLANS, WHETHER YOU’RE HEADING OUT TO THE DAYTONA 500 OR JUST GOING OUT FOR A SPORTS PRACTICE, IT WILL BE VERY WINDY TOMORROW MORNING BEHIND THAT FRONT. NOTICEABLY COOLER. UPPER 40S TO THE NORTH AND WEST. LOWER 50S IN THE METRO. AND LOOK AT THIS. HIGHS TOMORROW WILL ONLY BE IN THE UPPER 60S. THAT’S GOING TO BE PRETTY MUCH THE HIGHS. TOMORROW WILL BE PRETTY MUCH WHAT YOU’RE FEELING THIS MORNING. RIGHT NOW YOU STEP OUTSIDE. IT’S 68 IN ORLANDO, 69 IN LEESBURG, 70 RIGHT NOW IN THE VILLAGES, 12 HOUR FORECAST SHOWING INCREASING CLOUDS BY LUNCHTIME. AND AGAIN IMPACT WEATHER RIGHT AROUND 1 TO 5:00 IS WHEN WE’LL SEE THE WORST OF THE WEATHER MOVING THROUGH CENTRAL FLORIDA. AND AGAIN, IT WILL ALSO BE VERY WINDY OUT TODAY AS WELL. HERE’S A LOOK AT YOUR CENTRAL FLORIDA CERTIFIED MOST ACCURATE FORECAST IMPACT WEATHER TODAY FROM 1 TO 5 TOMORROW FOR PRESIDENTS DAY. ACTUALLY REALLY NICE WEATHER. BUT LOOK AT THAT COOL DOWN. HIGHS ONLY IN THE UPPER 60S. ANOTHER STRONG COLD FRONT ARRIVES WEDNESDAY
