MACON, Ga. β Early Sunday morning, a line of storms moved through Central Georgia.
Several people lost power, while many trees and their branches landed on roads, closing them down.
13WMAZ is tracking the damages and outages seen across Central Georgia in the aftermath of the storm. We will update this story as more information becomes available.
According to the Georgia Power outage map, over 5,000 customers are without power in Central Georgia. This is down from 10,000 customers being without power earlier on Sunday.
TriCounty EMC’s outage map shows that over 3,000 of its customers are without power. The map showed that over 2,000 Putnam County residents are without power.
Flint Energies’ outage map showed that over 2,000 of its customers are currently without power.
Monroe County EMA reports downed trees and potential power lines. Crews are working to clear roads at this time.
Georgia Department of Transportation’s 511GA site notes there are several road closures due to fallen tree limbs. Pinehurst Byromville Road on State Route 90, State Route 257 past Wilson Road and Holt Walton Road on State Route 215.
